Starting February 5, 2025, employees of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs will be authorized to independently make decisions on the administrative expulsion of foreign citizens for violations stipulated by the Administrative Offenses Code.
The new powers will enable internal affairs officials to issue expulsion orders for foreign citizens in cases of certain violations of migration regulations and other offenses, reports RIA Novosti.
The authority to consider such cases has been granted to the heads of territorial police departments, their deputies, as well as the heads of divisions responsible for migration issues and drug control. Additionally, decisions on expulsion for violations related to residency regulations may be made by the heads of transport police departments and their deputies.
